Bonus

I used the pen tool to trace my puppy "Kobi" and then I filled stroke with a gradient and the added with the pen tool a line. Where I converted to text("Kobi Bear".) The rest is the outline a piece of artwork I did for an art studio class, then I added text and inserted a clipping mask of another artwork of mine.

Individual Reflection

Explain your creative process for planning and creating this assignment. What inspired you? Why did you choose the colors, fonts, layout that you did?
I found an image that moved and inspired me. And from there I just kept creating and playing with the different tools. Everything I did kept me moving on to the next thought and the next tool to use.

What is the purpose of this document and who is the audience? How does your design relate to your audience?
It’s more a piece of art rather than an advertisement, (at least at this point.) My audience is anyone who appreciates art, fashion, inspiration. Maybe I’m a designer and for my new collection, I want to feature this piece as posters to advertise my lines inspiration and style. Or as an introduction to my runway show, or maybe to pitch my collection to buyers, or sponsor.

List the design principles used:
I believe so far I’ve used: rhythm, contrast, repetition, emphasis, and harmony with a touch of unity, to explain to my audience my inspiration and purpose for my collection or my intended story I’m trying to tell with this piece of art.

Explain the steps and major elements and tools you used to create this document.I am still in the process of completing my composition, but I love the clone tool. It has allowed me to really play and manipulate my design. The burn tool is most always my default tool, I feel I can correct and tweak anything to the way I feel it should look by always adding a little burn in areas. I’ve so far used a little bit of masking and clip masking. I am planning on using some typography; I’m just not sure in what area fully. But I want to clip mask my type to give it some cool effects. I’ve so far manipulated using the filters and color selections tool (magic wand). I am still editing and constructing my composition to meet my satisfactory, so the rest is to be continued…

Typography

The way the artist worked with the text to create movement in the man's face, as well as create a sense of tension and explosion of his voice with the text radiating from the background. The choice of color was used well to set the mood. It gives it a Jazzy feel to me, you can almost feel the voice of the singer, just by the way the typography was incorperated into the composition.

Simple, Yet Interesting

This typography ad is very simple, yet interesting. It keeps your eye at the focus point, while tell the story it want its readers them to focus on and understand. Simple, but well done.

This one I think is so clever

I love how the gun is composed of type, along with the bang type explaining the action. When you think of a gun shooting you wouldn't think it would be such a weak and dwindling type. But i really like that effect the artist used. It is getting across the strong, but not (well) powerful.

Another exapmle of bad typography

Examples of what (i feel) not to do

This stresses me out! The typography and the different types are all to strong to be used in one composition. The audience doesn't have a complete focal point, because each challenges eachother.
